Dad: I recently read in a travel magazine that the best part of a vacation is often the anticipation before the trip even begins.
Me: I believe it. We talked about the Boundary Waters trip for more than a year beforehand.
Dad: Yeah, that was a special vacation. It was fun to look forward to before we left. It was fun to live while we were there. And since we’ve been home it’s been fun to think about what a great time we had.
Me: Before, during and after. The trifecta! It’s safe to say that was a pretty great trip.
Dad: Sure was. And you know what?
Me: What?
Dad: I’m already looking forward to doing it again.
