If I had to pick my least favorite city in the United States, I believe that Houston would be near the top of the list. It’s hot and humid, it’s a long way from anywhere, it’s overly industrial, it’s where the Astros play, the flag with one star stands taller than the flag with 50, and generally it’s just a little too deep in the heart of Texas for my taste.
I was at a conference in Dallas recently and I struck up a conversation with a woman who was born and raised in Houston, lives Lafayette, Indiana but works for a company headquartered in Houston.
When I asked her how things are in Lafayette, her response was simply, “way better than they are in Houston.”
Lafayette, Indiana ‘way better’ than Houston, Texas.
Now that’s saying something.
