Don’t Go Down There

A few weeks ago, Laura and I were discussing the prospect of selling our house and moving into a new one. She shared this discussion with her friend Karen from church…

Laura: We’re thinking about moving but we’re just not sure. It’s so much work!

Karen: Tell me about it. We debated our move for months before we finally decided to do it.

Laura: What changed your mind?

Karen: We went down to the basement one day and realized that cleaning the basement was going to be a bigger hassle than moving. So we moved.

Laura: Hmmm…

(Turning to face me.)

Laura: Honey how’s our basement looking these days?
