Anyone who has ever mowed a lawn knows that a dedicated pair of mowing shoes is an essential piece of gear. Woe to him that wears new shoes into the lawn only to have them stained bright green.
As told to us by our friend Ryan…
Our son is three and he’s at that age where he wants to be just like his dear, old Dad. It’s a pretty neat feeling. One of my favorite things is when he mows with me. I’ll pull out the mower, and he’ll pull out this plastic mower. I’ll put on my leather gloves and he’ll put on his snow mittens. I’ll put on my green-stained mowing shoes, and so will he. And as I mow, he’ll push his plastic mower down the line next to me. It’s pretty cute. I feel a little bad for him though, his mowing shoes are a year old and they’re about a size too small. But he doesn’t seem to mind.
Just the other Sunday I put him down for his afternoon nap, and as I was about to get up and leave his bedroom, he reached up and grabbed my face, pulled me close to him and he whispered, “Dad, don’t mow without me. I want to wear my mowing shoes.”
To which I smiled and replied, “I’ll wait for you, pal.”

Great one Aaron!
A moment in time that a parent never forgets.
Thanks. I need to buy Laura some mowing shoes so that she can join in. It’ll be a moment this husband will never forget.
