NJ: My son is being a Christmas brat. He whines, he back-talks, he complains about everything. It’s driving me crazy.
Me: Have you thought about trying the Elf on the Shelf?
NJ: We’re doing it, but it’s not having an impact.
LT: My parents did a version of Elf on the Shelf back before it was even a real thing.
Me: Oh yeah?
LT: Yep. When it came to encouraging good behavior, that thing worked like a charm. They called it Belt on the Shelf.
