This handsome pair of birds fell to two shots during the upland hunting opening morning this weekend. It was, as always, great to get out, watch Indie work, reconnect with old bird hunting buddies and put some miles on the boots.
Speaking of miles on the boots, on Saturday we walked a whopping 30,000 steps through the wind-blown fields of tall grass, cattails and crop stubble. By the time we sat down for dinner, we’d walked more than 13 miles.
I’ve decided that in addition to Pheasants Forever, Quail Forever, BWCA and Baby-on-Board bumper stickers, I might also need to add a 13.1 half-marathon sticker to my rear windshield.
