I took Finn out for a short evening dove hunt in a combined corn field the other day. We didn’t see any doves, but there was some bloodshed early in the hunt as a dry cornstalk sliced Finn’s hand.
Finn: Ouch! Daddy, my hand hurts.
Me: It does, let’s take a look at it.
Finn: Daddy! It’s bleeding!
Me: Yep, there is some blood. Should we head home and get it bandaged up?
Finn: No way. I’m not going to let a little blood ruin our hunt. I’ve got to be tough!
