Lazarus Bass

The other day I took the kids bass fishing at a local farm pond. It was Nash’s first fishing trip. When I caught a bass and Nash wanted to hold it, I passed it over. He held it with both hands and wore a big smile.

As we all know, fish live in and breath underwater. Even little Nashie knows this to be a fact. But when you catch a fish and pull it into the air, it doesn’t die right away.

As Nash was holding it, the fish flopped. Nash threw it to the ground, spun 180 degrees, took off running, and screamed like a banshee.

As he ran, he screamed, “It came back to life! It came back to life!”
