Not the Noggin

I looked up to the highest peak of the second story, literally staring at the task in front of me. With the help of Laura’s step dad, Mike, this Fall we will power wash, caulk, prime and paint my house. It’s a task that I’m not really looking forward to.

**********

Mom: Promise me something.

Me: What’s that?

Mom: Don’t paint your house or use a ladder if there’s not somebody out there with you. You’d hate to take a 20 foot fall, land on your head, and not have someone there to help you.

Me: I’ll try my best to always have a spotter.

**********

There may be a few moments where I have to use my eight-foot stepladder when I’m alone. But in order to mostly keep a promise to my mother, I’m going to take every precaution to ensure my safety and to prevent my melon from coming into contact with my lawn or driveway.

**********

To my neighbors ~ If you happen to walk or drive by and see me wearing my bicycle helmet while I caulk my house, please don’t point and laugh.

My mom made me do it.

She obviously loves you more than the crew that is re-roofing her house this week. I’ve been over there twice and not ONE of them is wearing a helmet! 🙂
You’ve got a good noggin’…. and a good Mum! Both are worth protecting.

Thanks Skyla. I’m shocked that Mom wasn’t standing outside of their van when they arrived with bike helmets for the whole lot of them. Of course if they fell at Jimbo and Bbop’s place, they’d land in the soft embrace of some variety of shrubbery!
