The other weekend I shot 18-month old portraits of the son of my friends from Graceland. Big blue eyes, crimson lips and chubby cheeks made little Graham the perfect model. The photographs came out great, but for me the highlight was when young Graham shifted his walking into reverse so that he could traverse a parking lot curb rear-end first. This would have been all well and good, as it’s a tactic that most youngsters employ, except that Graham misjudged the distance to the curb, shifted into reverse a bit early and had to scoot backwards for the better part of three feet until he finally reached the edge.
We all laughed, as Graham carried on unfazed.
I’m sure in his capped toddler head he was thinking… Better safe than sorry!
