Laura’s cousin and her husband are expecting a baby this Spring. They’ve decided on his name, Elias.
A couple of weeks ago, Laura and I celebrated her birthday with her immediate family. Baby Elias came up in conversation.
Ann: Elias. Elias. I like it, but it’s a little bit unusual. Is it from the Bible?
Me: There’s Elijah, but I don’t remember reading about Elias.
Laura disagrees.
Laura: Sure it’s in the Bible! You know, the Book of Eli.
Me: (after a skeptical pause) The Denzel Washington movie?
Laura: Yeah, the one based on the book… in the Bible.
Me: I don’t think so.
Ann: Yeah, they probably just like the name.
