Pitter Patter, Trouble Trouble

When Indie was a puppy she rarely slept through the night. She’d whine and bark and howl. It was exhausting. But despite being highly energetic, she was otherwise a simple puppy during the day.

Lola sleeps through the night like it’s her job. The first night was whiney, but it’s been smooth sailing since then. The problems occur when she’s awake….

She still likes to pee in the house. Stepping in a warm, yellow puddle gets old really fast. She’s learned to crawl under the couch and chase dust-bunnies. She loves to chew on things, and she’s more of a barker than Indie ever was. And most recently she’s learned that it’s more fun to dig at her water bowl than it is to drink out of it.

The fur on Lola’s feet has been long since the day we got her, almost like little puppy slippers. When Indie walks across the hardwood, her nails click and clack. Lola’s little legs and padded feet make more of a rapid pitter patter. And while this may sound dainty and cute to you, to me, its the sound of big, big trouble.
