Thank goodness for Laura.
If not for her, all you’d get to read about on this blog would be bird hunting stories, tales about my pooch, and maybe the odd embarrassing yarn about my brother. But it seems her sweet naivety may provide an unending flow of moments worth sharing….
Laura and I went to a great store called Restoration Hardware this evening. We picked up a catalog. Laura was flipping through the catalog back at my place and she came to a page that featured a set of decorative moose antlers.
Laura: You’re going to go hunting this weekend and you’ll come home with a couple of puny pheasants.
Aaron: Yeah?
She grins and points to the catalog.
Laura: Who’ll have a better hunting weekend when I go to the store and buy us a set of these huge moose ears?
I smile and bite my tongue.
Moose ears.
Thank goodness for Laura.

Many a man would be smacked for referring to his lovely partner’s “sweet naivety.” I assume you to not be one of these men. Unless you are. In which case, you display here a sweet naivety. 😉
Laura doesn’t slap. She sucker punches.
