Once Upon a Wall

There’s a story in this picture. Heck, there might even be a sermon in this picture.

This little bit of greenery was growing out of the side of an eight foot high wall on the edge of a winding sidewalk.

As such, this would be story about strength and determination. It would be a recount of resilience and overcoming the odds. It would have a lesson of leveraging limited resources for maximum gain. It would be a litany of how life triumphs over cold, harsh stone. When passed along, this parable would make women weep and children cheer.

Yes, there’s a story in here.

And it would be a story well-told, were it not for the fact that I know how this chronicle concludes.

You see, this particular story does not end with ‘the end.’ It ends, instead, with one word.

One powerful, compound word…
