Tim: All this talk of high cholesterol and blood pressure has got me thinking. Have I ever told you my theory about a truly healthy and well-balanced diet?
Mom: I don’t think so.
Tim: It involves increasing my intake of two particular things.
Mom: Fruits and vegetables?
Tim: No. Fat and salt.
Mom: How’s that healthy?
Tim: Well the fat clogs up my arteries, which is bad. But the salt increases my blood pressure.
Mom: Which is also bad.
Tim: On its own, yes. But the way I figure it, if eat them together in a healthy balance, the fat will clog things up, but the salt will help to shoot things right on through.
